Orthodontics is a possible solution at any age, so for adults and the elderly as well. For the child, the first orthodontic assessment will take place at 8 years old, in order to evaluate the growth of the jaws. If the jaws do not grow as desired, it is indeed important to act before the peak of growth by interceptive treatments (device which will affect the growth of the jaws and not on the alignment of the teeth). Jaws that have evolved properly give permanent teeth a better chance of growing in alignment. Orthodontic appliances aimed at aligning the teeth are generally only placed after the loss of all the milk teeth, i.e. from the age of 12. During this first consultation, an initial assessment of the case is made through a clinical examination. We will also make casts, photos and panoramic X-rays and profile tele X-rays (done in a radiology office).
